Lecapitaine founded as a company
Lecapitaine was founded in Saint-Lô. As skilled cartwrights, Lecapitaine fitted cattle lorries, trailers and carts.
1952
The first refrigerated vehicle bodies
At the height of the industrial revolution, the company contributed to developments in goods transportation by creating the first refrigerated vehicle bodies for storing and preserving the quality of perishable foodstuffs.
2000
Lecapitaine moves up a step
Looking to expand our capabilities and service, we took the company to a new level by joining Petit Forestier Group. An opportunity to refine and expand the production line.
2004
A new factory
Lecapitaine inaugurated its new production site in Saint-Lô A deliberate decision to stay within our region and remain connected with our customers in France and in Europe.
2016
80 years of experience
Lecapitaine celebrated its 80th anniversary,
building the bodywork onto 5,500 vehicles.
2019
Expansion of the production site
Lecapitaine expanded its production site to achieve production capacity of 7,500 vehicles annually.
